FOR YOUR INFORMATION
Sewer backups are both destructive and unpleasant. Just like a water service line, the property owner is responsible for the service line from the point where it connects to the City sewer main to the house or building. Most sewer backups occur from items being sent down the line that cause blockage. These items include but are not limited to: diapers, grease rags, clothing, small containers, etc.
The Sewer Department has some suggestions to help you avoid sewer problems and potential costly repairs. Read about how Copper Sulfate will help with "Tree Root Control Suggestions" and other tips about "Sewer Maintenance Suggestions". Both can be found below under Relevant Documents.
